Initially I  think you need to decide where you want to be related to your (D2 visa) work, all the large towns have schools, hospitals, doctors, lawyers, rental properties etc but the transport connections can be difficult so a large town with reasonable public transport would make things easier. The cheaper rental areas tend to be where there is less work and less possibility to commute.  The two main online listings OXL     https://www.olx.pt/      and   Idealista     https://www.idealista.pt/en/   have rental properties searchable by area so you can do your own comparisons and get an idea what's available.

Hi from me as well. Reading that you are at the moment working in a Private Commercial Bank, I assume that you want to work in the service sector, not construction or agriculture. However, you will need to have good knowledge of Portuguese to land a job in e.g. financial services. I hope that you have more talent than me learning a new language.

Very good Portuguese classes are offered by the Instituto Camões (https://www.instituto-camoes.pt/), where you can take officially recognized exams in the language.

Visa D2 is for entrepreneurs. Is that your case ? Isn't the D7 (passive income) better? Do you intend to work at home to your bank in Bangladesh or do you want to look for a new job in Portugal? How old are your children?

Working in your area is only possible if you have an excellent CV, and speak English perfectly well.

These questions are important to answer. The countryside of Portugal is much cheaper than the coastline. It can be a good option if you work online. Castelo Branco is cheaper than other cities you have mentioned here.

Thank you very much for your advice. D7 (passive income) does not match with my financial criteria. I am serving as In-Charge, Finance & Settlement of Card Division, Head Office of a Private Commercial Bank. My Present designation is First Assistant Vice President. My kids are school going, one of their age is 8 years and another one is only 5 years old. I have account on LinkedIn, Webasto, Michaelpage PT, Indeed and glassdoor. I am trying to find a job related with my present profession since couple of month, but not yet get any. Seems, it may be take more time. That’s why I am interested about D2 Visa.

D2 Portugal Visa is intended for non-EU citizens who intend to open a business (small or medium company) in Portugal and demonstrate that they have the financial capacity to make this investment. This project will be analysed by SEF in order to be granted the visa. And it's not just any business, it is intended to have some social, economic, technological, scientific or cultural impact. It is a hard process, and one that is not straightforward.

D2 visa is not for finding work in executive or non-executive positions.

Banks in Portugal use young graduates for most non-executive functions in new recruitments. They are willing to learn and it is easy for them to adapt to the corporate culture. Banks also use outsourcing a lot.

For executive functions, banks use personal contacts and human resources with proven track records in the market. It is a closed and small labour market.... maybe in the UK it is much easier for you. Hope it helps.
