Working remotely, seeking residency

bringiton

Hello! I’m a US citizen, and for the last three years I have been continuously in Poland thanks to the US-Poland bilateral agreement which allows US citizens to spend 90 days in Poland, leave and immediately re-enter (without waiting 90 days outside the EU). I work for a US company remotely. Recently, I’ve been thinking about acquiring some sort of official resident status in Poland. In this regard, I have couple questions:

1. Is it possible in principle that some sort of resident status would be available based on my work situation?

2. I would imagine if such status were available, I would need to start filing Polish tax returns. However, I am already being taxed in the US as W-2 employee, albeit a remote one. Would I be able to avoid double taxation, and if so, how?

Thank you so much!
