Is it easy for Canadian to find a welding job in Norway?

Hello, I have actually no idea about the profession in question but on your behalf I checked around and it seems like you need to get certified, among other certification EN 287-1, ISO 9606-1 etc. depending on different assignments.
I assume that you are already a professional experienced welder, If it is so offshore assignments on oil platforms could probably be a possibility as a non Norwegian speaker.

If you allow, I will take precedence over you in this discussion. Because the field of welding has been part of my technical skills for over twenty years.

Qualified / certified welders, according to ISO-ASME standards, there are all over the world. And to work offshore, you need additional authorizations called HUET / BOSIET.

So unless our Canadian has really unusual or advanced professional qualifications, he will never be another welder.

Thank you for clarifying the matter! Please allow me to clarify what was my thought behind it!

Since anyone qualified had not replied to this member I thought I better give it a try.  Usually when I try I use good old common sense and put things together to be useful as much as I can for the reader (poster/member), after all that is what forum is all about, to be useful for members.

So I just tried to show this member possible existing paths to take assuming that he is a qualified welder by using common sense as following.

1. Canada is world's fourth largest oil producer, they have many offshore oil and gas platforms.
2. Our Canadian has chosen "The_welder" as his nickname, who knows what this guy is qualified to or not qualified to, so I gave him benefit of the doubt on his favor.

The rest is up to him. And for someone else who will read the post in the future will also have some kind of a clue now thanks to The_welder.

I do exactly the same as you. And I always warn the person that my opinion is not always the most precise and that I leave the hand to the local animators.
