aabdijamaduale

Good Afternoon

i have 15 years of transportation and fleet management  experience in the united Arab emirates, i moved to Rotterdam almost 2 months ago legally with MVV visa to unite with my partner and my son, currently waiting for BSN number and looking for job, am looking for a similar role to what i used to do back in the UAE. Understandably, the dutch language here is necessary to find similar to my role, i have been busy looking for jobs for english speaking professionals, are jobs available for english speakers involves only physical jobs?  Did anyone go through the same process, kindly share your experience.

Hi and welcome to the Forum.

This won't be easy; to get a decent job anywhere, you need 4 key things:

  1. Relevant qualifications
  2. Relevant experience
  3. Speak the local language
  4. Luck

All jobs in the Netherlands will have a professional diploma, for example for fleet and transport management, you will need the the Certificaat Ondernemer Goederenvervoer Wegtransport (Certificate Entrepreneur Road Freight Transport) or Personenvervoer (Passenger Transport), obtained by passing exams organized by the CBR (Centraal Bureau Rijvaardigheidsbewijzen) and CCV (or the EU equivalent).  The CBR have a website; this link will take you straight to it; it explains in English the regulatory framework around transport management and what qualifications you need.  They have a section on how to contact them, this link will take you straight to it.  My advice is to contact them and see what advice they can offer you.

If you have any professional degree qualifications, then my advice would be to join LinkedIn and reach out to your peers to see who is hiring and where.

I wish you the best of luck and hope this helps.
