Assistance with starting TEV procedure

The TEV process is what is generically known as MVV and I've previously discussed this with you.  The simple answer to your question is yes, you can start it yourself; this link will take you to the section of the IND website that deals with it; within the link are further links to each specialised section related to this, within these are specific processes to follow.

However, sponsors can indeed start the process for Highly Skilled Migrant applicants (in fact I'd recommend it as it's far easier and can also assist into the 30% tax rule, so be financially beneficial).  On the face of it, your qualifications are good, solid business ones and you shouldn't have a problem finding work and the visa process can take as little as 14 days for you and your family.

The thing you need to do is find a job with an employer who is willing to take you on as a Highly Skilled Migrant.  So, how to do it, I'd start off with the agencies, use Google to identify the agency for your specialism, then contact them directly.  Other ways - LinkedIn, the agents are continually searching in there for suitable candidates.

Hi, thanks for the prompt reply.

I am feeling a bit lost on the website as it says that to get a permit you have to meet the following condition
"You have an employment contract with an employer or research institution in the Netherlands."
I understand one would require a work permit and a residence permit.

My biggest issue thus far is not having a work permit therefore i am not available ASAP for a recruiter and have not been able to secure employment whilst still in SA


Would this case apply to me:

"You can submit your own application for a residence permit
for an orientation year for highly educated persons in order
to find a job as a highly skilled migrant. It is, however, still
advisable to only travel to the Netherlands if the IND has let
you know that you will be issued with a residence permit."

So if i apply for this orientation permit, is it with the IND or the Dutch embassy in my country?

Recruiters tend to be more receptive to Highly Skilled Migrants - mainly because their salaries are much higher and they get paid a commission as a % of the salary.

You can go either way (MVV or highly skilled) thousands of people go the highly skilled route every year without an issue; the companies are jumping through hoops for a reason, they want you to come and work in Holland, they can't find enough locals to do the work you are qualified for.  I still think you should go via the Highly Skilled route; try out this website and contact them.
