Identity Malta will in the coming week be contacting British nationals in Malta who are in possession of a valid residence document in order to initiate the process to grant them a ten-year residency status.

The application process to change one’s status will be staggered and there will be no processing fees when applying for the new document. Applicants will be required to personally submit their application by calling at Identity Malta’s Expatriates Unit in Valley Road, Msida on the dates indicated in the letter they will be receiving.

Applicants residing in Gozo would need to apply at the e-Residence Unit, St Francis Square, Victoria, Gozo.

These cards have been put on hold because of the virus situation, some people have theirs, they were and probably will still be issued certain villages at a time, when notified you are told what
documentation to take with you.

What’s the panic, they will let you know when they start up again and you receive your letter as mentioned above, would imagine similar documentation as when you applied for your residence card before.
