British ordinary resident in Malta marrying a third country national

GhasriGirl

My British son has been an ordinary resident in Malta for some years, is employed with an employment contract and pays tax and national insurance.  Nearly a year ago he met a Russian girl and they have been living together.  Her current visa runs out in September, her original employer here will not give her a proper contract but just pays employees cash in hand and she has not been able to find another job with a contract probably partly due to the impact of covid on the economy.  Therefore, currently, she will have to leave before her visa expires.  My question is: if she and my son get married will she be able to gain ordinary resident status as his dependent family member?
