Parking Charges in Valletta

biddy

I went to collect my Residence Card on 13 August in Valletta. My husband dropped me off at Evans Building and parked the car. We left Valletta 3 hours later. Two months later we have received a bill, from transport Malta, dated 1 October, for parking for 3:12:54 hrs. We were logged from "Mediterranean" at 7:53:58 to "Victoria Gate" at 11:06:53 and charged 3.28 euro. Has anyone else had this experience? This is the first time we have been charged for spending time and parking in Valletta.

sounds like you entered the CVA area of Valletta (indicated by road signs, and symbols on the road surface)

That's cheaper than paying in the multi-storey car park!

Lucky the charge is so low. Look out for the signs :) Got my one and only ticket in Rabat 14 years ago cost me 10LM. (Appx €23)
It was (as I thought) parked in a bay and a Liquigas truck had driven into it!! Had a chat with the police officer, nice chap but couldn't argue my way out of it. Originally it was much more as the Police Officer had ticked the wrong box. I mentioned this when I went to pay so they telephoned him at his home, he was at lunch' and then corrected it.

you can normally drive in to and out of the CVA without charge as long as you dont exceed 30mins i think....
