not used one to be hinest but those that i know who have - all said dont bother theyre not too good......horses for courses i guess.

They are much more expensive to run than a fixed one

Agreed George but we may not have the option of having one installed.
Looking for an 'A' class one, about €375 equivalent in UK.
We only need it for one bedroom.

Red - why  not ask the question - as am sure you could negotiate it especially if you are to stay long term - we did this in our flat - it benefits you and the owner ultimately

If you are still looking for a portable AC, I have a brand new one available. Shipped 3 10000BTU portable AMCOR units from the UK. Subsequently decided to install a fixed AC in our apartment (Mgarr). Cost £204.97 (Eur240), will sell for £100 (Eur120)per unit.

Yes, can hold on to one unit for you. I will however leave Malta on 20 August, to be back again only in June 2014.
