Maltese citizenship

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone has been able to obtain Maltese citizenship when their relative took a British name?

Basically my grandfather was born in Malta and we have found what we believe to be his birth certificate which states his name as Andreas Fenech (Andrew in English) but when he came to the uk he called himself Peter Andrew Fenech. what do I do? Will they accept the name issue? Also the dob was a year out! Same date but 1 year out! Has anyone else had this problem and still gained citizenship? Thanks
