Hi! I'll be studying in Lecce from September / October 2012 and maybe you can tell me something about musical performances in this city like jazz jam sessions or jazz clubs because i found in web some info about jazz festivals but they are only in summer. I love music because i am musician, but i am studying engineering because i am complicated person:) So can somebody describe me something about Lecce, Solento etc.

hi there smyku26, u'r right about this, infact in summer SALENTO (it is not sOlento) is pretty busy in events as music and any sort of things that doesn't let u make-up your mind where to go first! In september you can enjoy few folk feasts around the area (you need a car to move there), where you can discover the traditions.
By the way I'll find out for you about either bars or pubs where music is performed and I'll let you know soon! take care!

oh sorry by this mistake with "O" When i go to Lecce i have thing to take my saxophone and that will be great if i'll take participate in jam sessions or in another performances. Nderello I see that you are came from Lecce so maybe you can describe me possitive or negative features of your city.

hello smyku26, how are u? are you a professional sax player or an amateur? I left salento this morning and I'm already home-sick!!! Salento is lovely at anytime of the year... of course summer is more enjoyable 'cause the sea, but is very busy too so if u want to really enjoy it, either september or june are the best months of the year... I guess!

these guys are professional players, they always do jam sessions and you could problably try to ask them directly through their message boxes... why not? I don't know them personally, I saw few times "raffaele casarano", who plays sax... he's a MASTER an he does lots of experimental too! amazing! I think they know each other but as far as I know, all of them are brilliant! If u follow their walls you can find good informations and events around.... I don't think you will miss any event, believe me!

Hello! I found this forum as I look for the information about Lecce I am coming there to study and I would really like to know someone local or who is staying there and who could guide a "freshman" through some "real life" of Lecce (and not only Lecce) and share experiences

hello everyone,
if you're around LECCE on november the 25th (sunday) I would recommend to go visit a little exhibition (sort of xmas fair but with artistic pieces, real "made in italy") of local craftmen... below I attach the invitation and the map to make it easier! It will be open all day long! I will go there in the afternoon (hope will be sunny ;-)), so if any expat would like to meet up... reply to this post and let me know!
