Travelling to non schengen

KINGSLEY44

Good day everyone, please I want to be sure if I can travel to Bulgaria with a renewal slip of permesso di soggiorno from the post office, passport, expired soggiorno (motivo a lavoro) and my carta di identita? If possible, will I be allowed back to Italy?

Hi and welcome to the Forum.

Your permesso di soggiorno, together with a valid national passport, permits travel to other Schengen signatories.  Unfortunately, as Bulgaria is not a Schengen country, the answer to your question is no, you can't travel to Bulgaria on your permesso di soggiorno, you will need to apply for a visa at the Bulgarian Embassy.

Hope this helps.
