Article about Greece

Hi

My name is Renée Moernaut (from Belgium). I'm taking a Master's Degree in Journalism this year. We have to write a lot of different newsarticles, do interviews... One of my assignments is writing an article on a specific situation abroad. Since our teacher emphasized that we need to choose a topic that is linked in one way or another to our own life, I decided to write about Greece (We visited the country last summer for the third time; Since the first time we were there, I really love the country and I feel sympathy with the people.). A "hot topic" in Greece is, of course, the financial crisis of the country at the moment. I do feel sympathy with the Greek people, especially because I realize very well that this same situation could take place in any other country and no one deserves it (especially not the ordinary people). So, in my article I would like to focus on the way ordinary people in Greece try to deal with this difficult situation, how they cope. That is the story that isn't often told, after all. And that is, of course, the reason why I'm looking for people from Greece. I would like to hear people's stories.

More specifically, these are the questions I would like to be answered:
-How does the financial crisis affects your life? Has your life changed since the beginning of the financial crisis?
-How do you try to deal with this situation? (Have you taken another (extra) job? Are you considering moving abroad? ...)
-Do you still believe in a good future for you and your family (in Greece)?

Who could help me by answering these questions? It would really be a major help to write a good article if I can tell the stories of a few people.
