Quarters to avoid in Düsseldorf ?

Hello there !

We are a french/german couple searching an appartment in Düsseldorf.

Actually, we founded several offers wich are interesting, but we would like to know if they're some "difficult quarters", and how "difficult" they are.

Are they many problems in some part of the city ?
Can we live there in peace, or are they real risks ?
Are they dangerous zones for a lonely girl coming late from work, for exemple ?

We would be pleased to have your answers, and experiences (if, sadly, you get some).

I am living in Düsseldorf since 2 yrs....

Oberkassel, Niederkassel, Golzheim, Heerdt and Lörick are posh and nice areas.

Oberbilk, Bilk etc are pretty cheap to live, when compared to other parts. However I think compared to all other parts, Oberbilk would be risky for single girls..coming late night.....although in general it is quite safe...

I live in Pempelfort, and as a young woman who frequently arrives late at night due to long working hours (or clubbing lol) I must say it's really safe here. Never had any problems.

Hi !

I am moving to Düsseldorf next year and right now I am doing some research about where to live. I am a bit curious about Unterrath and Rath, what are these places like? Safe? Buses? Trains? And so on.

Any response will be helpful.
