Moving to Germany with EU Blue Cars

Hello!

a quick question if anyone had this experience: I’m currently holding French EU Blue Card for 10 months (before I’ve spent almost 2 years working in France with regular residence permit) and I want to move to Germany for work. Can I issue a German EU Blue Card in that case? If yes, how long does it take? My spouse is German, maybe it can be easier to open spouse visa type D?

You cannot issue a Blue Card, only the authorities can.

And moving with blue cars involves the same formalities as with any other colour.

But seriously: If your spouse is German, a family reunion visa is more suitable (and easier to get).

Beppi is correct, a blue card has no advantage over having a German spouse and getting a family reunion visa. The main attraction of a blue card is a quicker pathway to permanent residency or naturalization - compared to a non-EU person not married to a German. Married to a German, one can naturalize after just 3 years residency if they meet all of the other requirements.
