Traveling to the UK as a dual national

cdurka

Help!  I would like to visit my mother in London and cannot figure out the travel restrictions in place by the UK...  I know about the quarantine restrictions but can't work out where I stand about traveling in and out of the UK - I have both a US and a UK passport.  I would be coming in from NYC.

Hi and welcome to the Forum.

The UK has a lockdown with a holiday travel ban in place and only essential travel is permitted.  If you do qualify for essential travel, then my advice is to read the information on the UK Government website (link); there is a step by step guide at the link.  The immediate thing to note would be the requirement for you to go into quarantine on arrival, so you would not be allowed to see your mother until after that.  Perhaps wait till later in the year when the UK has left lockdown.

Hope this helps.
