Cyprus hunting season

Toon

Just something to be aware of when choosing a home location ......This is when its legal to hunt in Cyprus .. Generally, hunting of migratory birds is permitted from mid-August until end-October and hunting of resident game species from November until December, while hunting of Song Thrushes is permitted until end of February.

The reason I included it here is that these periods will be when the hunting fraternity  will be using their hunting dogs and if housed / kennelled anywhere near your new home feeding frenzy can be and usually is a very noisy affair....( Its not unheard of for hunting dogs to be kennelled away from where their owners live ) . Further that if your new home location is in a more rural area then be aware you may be a tad too close to the hunting zones as guns firing in and sometimes out of season may well be a concern plus the hunters do tend to drift extremely close to homes whilst shooting which is illegal ...

So be sure to check the areas out and  speak to locals if you can.....

Are there specific areas designated for hunting?

Jim

Toon

not sure on that one Jim  - I now there are some designated areas such as the parts of the Akamas that are out of bounds...

but it doesnt seem to matter to many hunters.....

Toon
