Own one property but Paphos municipality think we have two

lisab1966

We've applied for ebilling and this has just been completed.

However, at the end of the process, we had an email from the ebilling department saying "on your husbands name we can see another water bill, are you sending the bill, have you got a tenant?", giving an address.

This was a bit of a shock as we've only ever owned one property, and know nothing of the other.

I told them that it's nothing to do with us and they say the info came from the municipality. We don't want to be charged for something that isn't ours.

I emailed the land registry, apparently I can apply for a Search certificate for my husbands name.

Can anyone help? This is causing sleepless nights. How do we prove that we don't own the other property? What details should I give the land registry?

Thanks

Lisa

Maybe it belongs to someone with the same name

I would think a personal visit to the land registry is in order as the deeds for the property will be registered and the owner including passport or ID will be recorded...
