Hi both,

Good place to start. Rent first if you can, then buy with your own independent lawyer (not the seller's), and check title before any deposit.

Post-Brexit UK buyers also need Council of Ministers permission for a purchase.

For a calm, information-first overview (plus an Al assistant you can ask plain questions), Cyprus Gate is a solid first stop

Welcome to the forum. Plenty of first hand experience here lol.

Be aware that things are constantly changing in Cyprus and what was true even a few months ago might have changed so always check and never assume.

Engage a local immigration professional as this will help speed things up and remove some of the stress as it is slow here. If you really like a challenge do the immigration. I'm guessing you are not entitled to a European passport so professional help is worth the money.

You will need a Cypriot bank account and this is best setup when you are here. The immigration person will give you an up to date list of requirements that you will need to satisfy. If you are transferring vehicles and possessions from the UK you can use Peter Morton or CCS as they will provide a list of requirements. I used Peter Morton 4 years ago and they we spot on with no breakages and helped all the way.  Ask any questions here and as many as you need.
