Retired US citizens living in Cyprus

DodgerBlue

Hi, I am a retired US citizen considering a move to Cyprus. Are there any retired US citizens in Cyprus that are knowledgeable about the tax benefits of retiring in Cyprus in this Expat Forum? If so i have a few questions for you, Thanks, Fred

Hey Fred, and welcome,

Yes, there are many retirees from around the world living in Cyprus. Just list your questions, and I am sure someone will be able to answer and help you.

Hi, I am a retired US citizen considering a move to Cyprus. Are there any retired US citizens in Cyprus that have lived in Cyprus for a few years and have filed both their Cyprus and their US Tax returns from there, and are knowledgeable about the tax benefits of retiring in Cyprus? An understanding of the US-Cyprus Tax Treaty would also be helpful. If so I have a few questions for you, Thanks, Fred - @DodgerBlue

@DodgerBlue. Don’t know that there are any tax benefits.  I’m retired US citizen and have a house in North Cyprus.  I spend sometime there.  But to the best of my knowledge.  I think you would need to renounce US citizenship in order to no pay US taxes.

I’m guessing you are on the Greek side?
