Hello moving to Austria in less then a year :)

Hallo,
I am moving to Vienna in less then a year and I just want to get everything prepared or at least a bit more knowledge about Vienna, I am moving there with my friend with the SWAP program. It is a program that allows us (Canadians and I think Americans) to work in either Austria, Germany, France, Britain, Ireland, South Africa, New-Zealand, Australia, etc.
So my visa and ticket is taken care of, they will help me find a job, so that's good as well. But how is it living in Vienna? What are they ups and downs?
I would love to correspond from people who have either lived there, or live there,

Vienna is great
But of course there are ups and downs.

What kind of work are you getting? Will you get an appartment on your own?
