Taking almonds, peanuts, walnuts from PR to the states - allowed?

I bought these at Walmart. They are not in the shell, so no husk for bugs to hide inside. Is it allowed to take them from PR to the states? I didn't see these on the list of being allowed, nor disallowed.

My understanding is no.

Those products must be processed, packed and sealed before they can be brought in.

I'd suggest you call the USDA to confirm.

Pretty sure that's a no. You can take processed, packaged items, however. We take coffee all the time.

Too much bad advice on this site, besides this message thread. 0 out of 2 responses incorrect. I was able to take the nuts with no problems, not even questioned about them. These were unsealed and that didn't matter either.

People that don't know, shouldn't be giving/guessing advice.

That is very rude Princo, people gave you advice to the best of their knowledge, correct or incorrect, they took time out of their life to try to advice you. A little appreciation would have gone a long way instead of attacking those that tried to help.

Not meant as an attack, just feedback and observation. To be clear, I said the advice was incorrect, not the people were bad. I'm sure they are fine people.

Would it be better to let bad advice stand uncorrected? The world advances when bad advice is corrected. Some people were attacked when they objected to the myth that the world was flat.
