Alamo Car Rental and Alamo Protection Package

zetor1982

Dear All,

Quick question here. I will be renting a car from Alamo and I have a couple of protections I can choose from. In my base rate I have the CDW (Collision Damage Waiver) and TP (Theft Protection). Additionally I  am taking the Deductible Protection (Excess reduced to 0).
Question is about something called APP (Alamo Protection Package).

Here is the description of this one from Alamo's webpage:
Alamo Protection Package (APP) is a package product which includes Collision Damage Waiver-Theft Protection (CDW-TP), Tire and Windshield Protection (TWP), Third Party Liability (TPL) and Deductible Protection (DP) at a discounted price.  Alamo Protection Package (APP) is not insurance.   If you purchase APP, the rental company contractually waives your responsibility for the cost of damage to, loss or theft of the vehicle, and up to the policy limits for damages and injuries to third parties during the rental period in the Dominican Republic subject to the actions listed on the rental agreement that invalidate the coverage as described in the rental agreement.

To me this looks like not required as I have CDW, TP and Deductible Protection already there.

Do You think at the counter desk they will still want me to take this APP package ?. I do not want to be surprised at the airport counter.
Thanks !
regards Piotr

I read it that if you opt for the Alamo package - you don't need the others
