Short Term Rental for solo female

RMaarie

Hi,

I am visiting DR for the first time in September with my partner.

I plan on staying an extra two months, after he leaves.

I’m looking for a short term rental in either Sosua or Santo Domingo area.

I would like to be in secure building. Close to amentities like grocery store, gym, restaurants. Must have fast & reliable wifi. Pool. A/C.

I’m still undecided on which area I would prefer to stay. I am going to be studying at a Spanish school which I can attend in either places.

I love the laid back beach lifestyle. I love health & wellness and would like to have a community of people who are also interested in health and wellness. Access to gyms and yoga studios is a must to have close by.

Any recommendations for a newbie here would be so appreciated.

Thank you!

Welcome to the forums.

In terms of location I think Sosua are is going to work better or Cabarete depending where the school is.  Santo Domingo is a large vibrant crowded city and is anything but laid-back! I live here and while I love the opportunities, shopping and normally nightlife and restaurants, it's not relaxing or health and wellness focused

Cabarete is place to go or Encuentro. There's a great community of expats who do all that you want.

Short term Rentals right now range from. $400-750 for 1 bedroom.

And you can get vehicle for $300-600 per month to explore the island.

Hello  Uynghiem Ngo

I find your answer interesting.  Where exactly can you find a short term rental (for 2-3 months) for under $800 a month, that has wi-fi, air conditioning, a pool, security?   And car rentals too. Please post some links so anyone interested can check them out remotely.

Or spanish speaking is good, then rent from a local business - those are via whatsapp only.  If you need help let me know, I've spent some time walking around shopping.

We had a few places lend us their car as well for grocery and small excursions.
