Moving to Dominicus

Greetings!  My wife (realtor) and I (pilot) recently retired and are considering moving 6 months out of the year to Dominicus.  Cannot give up seeing our 3 granddaughters, hence the half year option.

Looking for a 12 month furnished 2 or 3 bedroom rental in or around Dominicus.

Love to entertain and looking to meeting new friends.

Welcome to the forums.

Are you referring to the area in the south east of the country?  I don't know an area called Dominicus only the Dominicus Bay Resort.
Dominicus or Bayahibe is East if La Romana
Dominicus is a small seaside town 5 minutes south of Bayahibe Bay. It sits on the border of the National Park of the East which includes Saona Island. Glenn, you can contact Maeti in Bayahibe. She handles real estate rentals and sales. She does have apartments for rent in Domincus. Her Whatsapp is 809-968-0173....
Awesome I learned something new!
Residency would be required in this situation, correct?
Yes legally it is.
Residency is something you should work on, but as of now you can pay a relatively small overatay fee when returning to your home country. Be careful who you hire to help facilitate your residency. I have heard many expensive horror stories. Come first and get to know some folks that have gone through the process that can recommend a good person to work with. Not going to name any names on this site, but some of those "lawyers" who advertise the most can be the worst to deal with. I know of some situations where people spent over $5000 USD and took 5 years, which is crazy.
Is La Romana an option or do you really want to be in Dominicus?
What is your budget
I have been in  la Romana and my husband working in Dominicus for the past 7 years. Be glad to help if we can.
Glenn if you and your wife like Dominicus you could also consider La Estancia which is 15 minutes from Dominicus but much nicer
Good ideas, thanks for comme ting and hoping the OP responds.
