Well this seems like a strange thread. I use the same Apps I would use anywhere! I use the app of the bank where my account is for example.

Not sure there are apps specific to here, rather specific websites.

So some other moderators clarified some of this. We have some online sites rather than apps.

Mercado libre is a site to buy and sell almost anything.

I wl post more once I am at my computer.

- Currency Plus (quickly calculates any currency to RD Pesos)
- Translate (for those not fluent in Spanish)

Both good things to have on your phone. I use google translate a lot even after 14 years.

Although widely used outside of the US, I was introduced to Whatsapp while visiting the DR and it's used by just about everyone there. Although a site, not an app - I have also found that subscribing to the town facebook pages (In my case Las Terrenas) gives you a lot of local information and a greater feel for the community and culture. Great idea Priscilla! I look forward to seeing the replies.
