Bringing plant clippings into the Dominican Republic

Can you bring plant clippings in your checked bag into the Dominican Republic? I have lots of plants that I just want to take a small clipping and bring into the country for our Apartment.

You might have them confiscated if Aduanas finds them in your luggage, but that isn't that big of a risk! You aren't supposed to bring in any agricultural products, including plants, but I don't think that there would be consequences beyond confiscation and destruction if you have just a small quantity for personal use.
