You sound about as prepared as a person can be.  I'm guessing you'll be fine and will make the move, for the most part, in one piece.  Keep an open mind, work on that Spanish (it will be your most valuable tool and even more valuable achievement) and don't forget to 'ask a Tico' when you need advice about CR in general. 

There are no wars here, nor mass shootings, or masked mystery 'cops' dragging people off the streets...

@rainagain...Don't forget to ask a Tico when you need advice...?.....In your reply to Cheryl's post"Common Scams"you literally give Ticos an excuse for discriminating against you----- 'gringo gouge'.Make an excuse for this character defect all you want because you hate your U.S.origins so much....They ripped you off but you still justified it as you felt you were getting a deal, when in fact they got the deal at your expense.....The Tico is cagey, he doesn't give details nor fills in the blanks to get it his way......What is it, a guilt trip from an American who has to apologize because of his supposed privilege ?..Irrational at best.

You need to go away.  You add nothing to this site anymore.   And your assumptions about my experience are just certifiably cuckoo...  OK?

I worked in construction in the states.... so I know what things cost and If I think I was getting a deal... then I was.  OK ??   You can't step into my past experience!!!... and tell me and everybody else that 'something' else really happened that DID NOT HAPPEN... are you really that messed up in the head and void of something better to do?  Just stop.   

I've tried to give you the benefit of the doubt in the past... but you just don't have anything to add that is worth reading.... that is, if it's even readable.

I can't believe they  (site admins)  allow you to continue polluting this site.  You aren't even an expat. 

Spirited discussion is one thing... but you're just not stable and contribute, as I said above, nothing here.

going after Gringos on an expat website, as a Costa Rican, makes you MAGA in my mind... and none of your 'freind-less hiding in the woods with your friend-less wife (your words, not mine) is an excuse for coming onto this site with ZERO information; ZERO proof or evidence to back up your crazy writings.
