Housing Help!

hberi

I am having a difficult time finding long term housing in San Pedro.  We do not want a vacation home by the week, as my husband and I are planning to stay for 6 months to a year. Where is there a good website to find such? Possibly from owners and not agencies? Thanks so much for any answers!

Check out:shorelinesolutionsbz.com/

No affiliation, just know that they manage a lot of the long-term rentals on Ambergris Caye.  There should be quite a few 6-12 month rentals, I would think.

Good luck!

Thanks guys, but the first reply was pretty much all people LOOKING for a place, not a list of rentals. And the 2nd were out of my price range. There has got to be some answer to my question somewhere. And the search goes on... :)

Another idea... Keith Newton (blease.mgmt@gmail.com) may be able to help.  He should be able to email you a list of available long-term rentals with availability date.  Some are expensive, but he has some lower-cost rentals as well.

Once again, I have no affiliation with him, but he lives near us on the island and does property management here.

Good luck!

you can check out vrbo.com I think they have places for rent all over the world.

What's your budget, hberi? You may be trying to fit a round peg into a square hole. San Pedro is one of the most costly areas to rent in Belize, which may be why you're having such a hard time.  A 2 bedroom/1 bath, not necessarily on the water, can cost $1000-1200 usd.

Here's a great site that lists other Property Management companies on the island, in addition to the two very good ones Caribegal mentioned:

Having said that, most PM companies, as well as VRBO, deal in vacation rentals on the island, which I know is not what you're looking for.  Good luck on your search!
