Hello all.. I'm Charles and have been doing a little research into moving to Belize in the next few years. I intend on coming down from Alabama next year around March/April to visit and will be visiting several more times throughout the year to experience the different seasons before the actual move. From everything I am reading there seems to be a pretty good expat community there between Placencia and Ambergris Caye. Anyway, hoping to be browsing and reading the forum between now and then with hopes of learning more as to what I would need to do to eventually become a permanent resident. I am self-employed and can work remotely from Belize which is an enormous plus.

Sounds like you're doing it the right way...take as many trips prior to moving and explore as many locations you can... That's the best way to find your perfect spot so you won't have any regrets later on... Welcome
