Well Sveta I hope you are not in a hurry to come here so dont hold your breath on that dream! But when you do eventually get here I am pretty sure that your services will be much in demand as Latin Dance is very popular in Vietnam & nearly every health & fitness clubs here (& there are many) advertise Latin Dance as part of their services. Most advertise Latin Dance as........"Sexy Dance" lessons!

I have heard that dance is growing in Vietnam and I’ll try my luck there. And the most important thing is that I’m in-love in that country. So, I hope to mix business and pleasure as well ☺️

No not me mate, did a bit of Highland Fling at primary school but thats long long ago, but I know that the Vietnamese are into all sorts of dancing these days. A lot of them have 2 left feet from what I have seen & my ex wife, ex GF & GF now have very little sense of rhythm.  My apartment looks directly onto a park & I see them doing Latin most mornings as part of like keep fit & they are right into Bollywood stuff & belly dancing too its all like a keep fit thing I think.

I see...so then it’s a great opportunity for me to make both feet function in a right way 😂

The dance moves I've seen at the parks are slightly different from what I learned in the US, but maybe the moves in your area are, too.  Just today I saw  man teaching a woman an Argentine routine in 23/9 park in the city center. 

I've danced a little Salsa, Merengue and Bachata in bars in HCMC and those are mostly the same, although I sometimes took follows by surprise a bit in Salsa.  I saw  a lot more Cuban-style Salsa than I did in my area of the US, but then we don't have as many Cubans in the Midwest as, say, New York.  I mostly danced Lindy Hop here, but I quit dancing last year.  I've gotten too old.

Yeah, sometimes it's better to dance free-style. It's more joyful and you can improvise more. I've danced all of my life under some rules and regulations, because it was a competitive dancing or dancesport. But through my dance career as competitor, I've seen more free-style dance, which is very nice and it's good to learn and to know many variations. In general, Europeans are more dedicated on dancing and we accept many other dances from the rest of the World. But unfortunately, many "dancers" call themselfes a dance teacher...
I think it's never "too old" for dancing. I'm dancing for over 30 years. 25 years were as professional dancer and competitor. And I'm still planning to dance (not as competitor), even I'm 44 now 🙂

The Vietnamese are just getting into rap in a big way. The good news is that it is coordinated dance moves, choreography. Search for 'Rap Viet' on Youtube and see what I mean.

Add a few street moves to your repertoire and contact managers, producers and record labels (usually all one person) here in HCMC.

I did that when I first arrived and everybody had time for a coffee. I am a songwriter. I did not put enough effort and moved on to other things, so I did not get any further, but the opportunities are there.

V Pop is another niche to search for on Youtube. Good luck.

I'm older that your niece, and at some point the body pains outweigh the joy in dancing.  I can still dance physically, but wasn't enjoying it as much last year, and I would be hurting for days afterwards.  I started at 39, first with contra dancing and then ballroom, so I was dancing for 28 years before I quit. 

I can't say I will never dance again -- If I ever get back to the US again, I will probably go to a ballroom dance sometime, and it's always possible that I might go to a Salsa dance here, if only to eat Mexican food and watch.
