IRS Check

def1412

So a friend who was supposed to deposit my IRS refund into my US account sent it to me here....perfect!  I thought I would deposit it online, but it is over the daily amount allowed.  Does anyone know of a way to get that check deposited into a US account?  Don't like having it here...will be returning for short visit to US come May.

Have you considered asking at the US Embassy/Consulate?  They may have already encountered this or similar problems for their employees, if not officially.

I recently opened a fidelity cash management account online (no fees) and you can deposit your checks online via your cell phone.  Fidelity has an app that allows you to access the account from your cell phone and deposit checks by taking a photo of the check.  Really easy and can be done online.

Otherwise, if you can wait, deposit it when you come back in May, it will not be a problem.

I tried my banks and they have a limit to how much I can deposit online and the check exceeded that limit.  No go.  So at the end of the day, I sent it home by FedEx.  65usd.  Gets there today.  Thanks for your help.  THIGV I never thought of the embassy...that was a great suggestion.

I don't usually quote Reagan but I think he used to joke "We are from the government and we are here to help you."  It thought the idea was kind of a long shot anyway.  Too bad it wasn't $6500 USD.
