Visiting Vietnam

jumada

Hi all,
I intend travelling to Vietnam in August 2019 for 3 weeks.  I would appreciate if I could get some advise as to where I should land from Sydney.  Should I book a flight directly to HCM and work my way from there to the beautiful places I have seen on the net.
Any advise on how to get a driver during our stay or any local travel agent who can organise someone to take us around.
Thanks in advance.

You can fly to Saigon, Da Nang, or Hanoi from Sydney.  Fare is lowest to Saigon; Hanoi is slightly higher, and Da Nang is highest.  Where you should land would depend on your itinerary.

You can hire a car with driver from any legitimate site on the Internet (most of them are for that particular service).  There's no need to use a travel agent.

I agree with @Ciambella that you probably don't need a travel agent if you are at all self directed.

However, depending on your budget, if you decide to visit Danang and/or Hanoi, I have trusted English-speaking friends with tour companies who can help you with whatever you need.

You can send me a personal message for their info, as we don't advertise businesses in the forum.

One suggestion for an itinerary:

Start in HCMC, fly inexpensively to Danang and later fly to Hanoi.

Split your time between the three places, depending on what you want to see and do, flying back to Australia from Hanoi.

I don't know if flying into HCMC and out of Hanoi significantly increases the package price for your flights.

Whatever you choose, enjoy!
