First time Western Union xfer 2 Thailand: the $ 1,000 limit per month

So open up an account with another bank if you want to send over USD$1000. Banks don't talk to each too much in VN and there is no recognised credit bureau.

Affirmative. The thing is, more than 1 month had elapsed since the opening of the account. I guess the monthly $ 1,000 limit can be used once a quarter for a $ 3,000 payment or 6 payments of $ 500.

The bis surprise was that there was no "middle man" needed, unlike what colleagues say about sending payments to the Philippines.

TBH, there is a lack of funds. And the $ 1,000 limit coincides with my salary   

Yesterday, a Vietnamese teacher asked me how much I'm making. She was getting 4 M and I felt rather embarrassed.

No need. It's the same thing happen to expat workers, just that you have the good end of the sticks this time.

1k is same as our expat teachers (1-1.6k). And dont worry, we get our moneyworth out of you guys.

As for the VN teachers. They get that number if they are parttimer, I think. A fulltimer get more than that, especially in a language center. Not at the level of 1k (which is more than any staff but the owner) but not at 200$ for sure.

EDIT: Oh, and protocol is to keep your salary secret to avoid envy among staff. Lament the various cost of living, complain about foreigners get ripping off if you want, but avoid mentioning the correct figure. It is common protocol. Not that they dont have method to figure it out, but you dont need to say it.

My bad. Working 6 days a week and up to 30 hours plus hours of driving makes me feel like I earned at least some of it.

Like I said, I dont envy you guys your being highest wage earner in the company.

Aaaah, the joy of language centers. Indeed, it's the only company I work that need us 6 days a week.
