Jaitch, have you tried this yet? And more importantly if os does it come back with alternative DNS settings to those supplied by your ISP?
Could be a nifty little tool if it does :)

I will do some testing and see what I find.
cheers for the link.

Got the tip from the senior tech fo VNPT! (He flew up from TP HCM - white shirt not vlue uniform).

Works on both my landline Internet feeds, not going totry it on the satellite feed in case it goes screwy - besides our speeds are always as high as specified.

He had other goodies which I will check out first.

Ok well I've been playing with this all morning and it's an interesting utility even if a little flaky (it crashed several times under some heavy loads).

There's nothing here that can't be done without it obviously, the advantage being it's easy to see the information all in one place and in GUI obviously.

The results however are a little more hit and miss...

I tried it initially with my settings as I currently like them set. No real surprises there it said I was using the fastest DNS servers. That's not the ISP ones obviously.

So I did some further testing, and entered googles 8.8.4.4 it said I could get 33% increase switching to googles 8.8.8.8
If I hit the Include censor check it said I could get a 38% increase switching to the ISP one's! So I'm not exactly sure what that option is meant to do. (Might need to rtfm)

Still handy little tool to do some quick tests with.

One of my lines increased 14.1% or so, the others in use by too many to mess with until tonight's shift.

Remember, it's still in Beta, only Google's Beta's can last years.

Jaitch, it's hosted on google code hosting platform, but it's not a google product
