Is there an app that is used in Vietnam to TAP the payment> is it safe. I know for small amounts it is cash but want to understand all the options to make things easier there? Thanks

The only tap to pay that I am aware of is Apply Pay, Google Pay and Samsung Pay which will link debit or credit cards. Its used around larger cities in some higher end restaurants and markets and malls but you wont buy street food with it. The rest of the country uses QR codes with the direct bank account transfer.

BTW a hilarious thing is most Vietnamese will say they only take Apple pay. If you say google pay about half will say they only take apple pay even though its the exact same tech and they work with the same devices. You just have to tell them "oh yeah apply pay" then scan your google pay card and it works lol. It cracks me up still.
