Brand new?

My wife says it's a stupid idea if it's used.

@narcrepellant2525 I ride vintage bikes, none of them have the blue card. they have the very old reg document.  i make sure i have licence and insurance but in 6 years never been stopped by police.

I think the more older bike less attracted are traffic police to you  if you drive slowly and with helmet on.

The problem is officially changing registration.

Even Vietnamese people are resisting purchasing used bikes for this reason because then if they want to sell it they can't

Not interested much in resale value, I will pay it 4M 😂  as Honda I expect it to run more in reliable way than Yamaha.

I've seen advice to carry the blue registration card (even if it's in the previous owner's name) and proof of insurance so as to avoid potential hassles with any traffic police. Especially if you haven't gotten your Viet motorcycle license yet. But since I've yet to be pulled over by the cops, I don't know if it truly helps.

It does, having been pulled over myself.

I believe driving old crap, respecting the rules, wearing helmet minimize risk of being pulled over, like in US.
