LGBT issues for Expats in Thailand

RJMurphy

Hello!
My name is Robert and I am from the Washington DC area in USA.

I have been in Thailand for about 4 years. I worked as a security systems contractor at the state Department and Dept. of Defense for 20+ years. I moved to Thailand after pulling out of my work, and got married to a nice Thai girl here. I now live way out in the countryside. I am in the Isaan region, province of Chaiyapoom, near the town of Nong Bua Deang.

I am not new here, but some gay and lesbian friends of mine want to come and visit Thailand for a while. Are there any issues you all know about regarding LGBT in Thailand that they should know about?

First glad that you married a nice Thai girl and not a not nice one :)

I think there will be absolutely no issues for any of your LGBT friends to visit Thailand, even lady men will be fine and widely accepted as they have been for decades.

Thanks...that's very re-assuring!
And I am happy too about the Thai girl...I know many...most are not so nice once you stop giving them money!   ;)
