Flights to Thailand

I have never flown internationally. Is the leg space on a international flight the same as on a domestic flight? I'm 6'3 and I require more leg space. I usually have to set in an exit row or upgrade to first class for more leg space when I fly. I will be flying out of Houston,Texas when I depart. I was told that a business 1st class/ luxury flights change range from $2,500 and up. How far in advance should I book my flight? What time and day of the week should I book for the best price? I do know that it will be a very long flight. I would like my first international flight to be as comfortable as possible. Please share any and all information on flying to Thailand. Share your pros and cons.

Pricing fluctuates, but generally planning further ahead opens more opportunities for discounts.  One of the outfits I used to find me discounts asked clients to plan 3-6 months ahead.

I'm 6'0", and I spent way too many hours in cramped seats when in my 30-40's.  Worst was a Tokyo - LAX stuck in a middle seat with an OBESE person in the aisle row, that had to turn back one hour into the flight to get a heart attack victim back to a Japanese hospital.  NEVER AGAIN

To me, it is worth reducing the number of flights to buy Business Class!
