Has anyone tried to apply for loans in Srilanka ?? If you are an expat you normally have a one or two year resident visa with may be renewed . Checked with my bank and they are willing to give me a loan but expect me to pay it back before the visa ends !!! So if they give me 5mil loan I have to pay back within 12 months !!! (my visa gets renewed every year). Have any of you had a similar situation or found a workaround???

We were the same but managed to borrow over 6 years with our company with local shareholding if this helps.
