Overstayed for 6 days in SG

Psyche99

Hi everyone,

I have a friend that had her Work Permit cancelled on Aug 22. She was then issued STVP valid until Aug 30. She's moving to a new company but she was only able to provide medical results for pass issuance on Sept 6. She's technically overstayed for 6 days since the issuance letter would allow her to stay for 1 month until her pass gets issued.

I would like to know what she can do regarding her 6 days of overstaying? Also, will that be an issue for her pass not to be released/issued?

Thank you!

In Singapore, overstaying is illegal and a serious offence, unless you have a medical reason and have sought permission to overstay, or if there are no fights (again you need to seek an approval from ICA, not MoM). This can have grave repercussions- like getting a lifetime ban on employment, also being deported. Why mess with the law?
