How do I know the status of EP appeal

2 weeks for an appeal isn’t unusual..in my case, my appeal is now at week 5 and more documents are being submitted today at the request of MOM

I see! Thing is that, my current EP will be cancelled by end of October and I highly depend on this EP approval for my future in SG! For me I haven't heard from my employer or MOM yet and also I am still not sure whether my appeal has been rejected already as the status is still rejected now.

May I know how can I know the current status of my appeal? Should I check with my HR? or is there any options for me to check with MOM directly? Please clarify

Have patience, an appeal is literally like reassessing your application all over. Understand the paranoia arises because MoM outlines an appeal can take up to 3 weeks- but that’s really not the case always.

Always a thumb rule, keep your plan B ready- secure another job as your back up plan.

On a positive note, applications with even 50% bumps have been reviewed and approved- all it takes is a strong justification from your employer/ submitter.

Just another heads up, Appeal status isn’t visible to you or me, it shows up as ‘submitted’ for the employer/ submitter on their login page.

EPOnline status remains as ‘rejected’ while the application is in review by means of an appeal. It changes to approved, if appeal info convinces MoM. Else rejected with a notification to the submitter with the reason.

After end of 4 weeks, wouldn’t hurt to call MoM and do a follow up on the appeal status (again, you can’t as an applicant, your submitter/ employer can). You have the right to do so

Btw, I am afraid to plan for another job, cos if I do so, the other employer would urge me to accept the offer and may proceed to EP application while there's already one in progress! That's why I am confused whether is it a right time to start looking for other options!

If you start interviewing now, you would give/ take need around 3-4 weeks to conclude a job, that’s enough time for an appeal outcome. So get to it, it’s good timing.

I have received an update from the HR that "it has been 3weeks already since EP appeal. However MoM needs more time to review the appeal and it may take more time up to another 3 weeks"

EP Application: 26th July
EP Rejected: 2nd August
EP Appeal: 3rd August
MoM update: 23rd August (needs more time up to another 3weeks)

I am really worried about my deadline cos my current EP is valid only till October 2021. I have received few other offers as well but I am putting it off as the appeal is already in progress. Can anybody provide more insights into this matter please ! _/\_

Same thing happened to me. If you did not get approval after another 3 weeks. Ask HR to submit the escalation to MOM.

Hi dineshjk92, do you have update of this appeal? Is it approved?
