2 months since application for EP - still pending

Dear all,

I've got an offer for a contract till Dec'22 (Academic sector). HR had applied EP for me since March but still pending. I do not know why it is taking that long and I am now worried that even though I finally get the pass issued, I cannot catch up with my work as the project has already begun and I am the last person to join the team. I feel bad for my employer that they get the project delayed because of that and they could not find a local talent to do the job.

Does anyone have experience in EP application in academic sector?

If you think because of delay in your joining employer will suffer and project will be delayed then your employer should present your case at MoN strongly and provide rationale about it. There could be a possibility that MoM will give it’s verdict sooner.

There are many recent cases where workpass gets approved after 2 months or 3 months. Good luck
