Moving Abroad as a Machine Learning Engineer

mr_universe

Hi everyone,

I’m French and I’m seriously considering moving abroad to work as a Machine Learning Engineer. I’d like to know whether this field is actually in demand in Singapore and if the opportunities there are better than in France. I’m also wondering whether someone with no experience, or just a first entry-level experience, can realistically find a job abroad, or if companies mainly hire highly experienced profiles.

I’m also curious about what day-to-day life is like over there. Does the salary of an ML engineer (or AI roles in general) allow for a comfortable lifestyle, or does the cost of living reduce the benefits of relocating? And regarding language, is English usually enough to work in tech, or is it necessary to speak the local language to be considered in interviews and to integrate into a company?

If you have any experiences, advice, or concrete insights, I’d really appreciate it. Thanks a lot for your help!

If you thinking to come to Singapore; then here mainly companies hires experienced people on E pass visa. Some companies do hire less experienced on S-pass visa but S-pass has a limit per company, so little bit difficult to find a sg company hiring first entry-level foreigner; Here graduates from NUS and NTU who were on student visa already take up jobs of  first entry-level or second.

In Singapore, English is enough.

Thank you for your reply. So it seems it’s better to have some experience in that case. But is there a lot of competition in this field in Singapore?
