After cancelled work pass, Do i need to go back to home country?

Zhi zhi

Hi

After my work permit is canceled, do I need to return to my home country? I heard that I need to submit an airplane ticket to cancel it. I’m thinking of traveling to another country and then going back to my home country after one week. Since I need to submit an airplane ticket, is it okay to submit a ticket to another country instead of my hometown?

Border and Immigration Records: MOM may have access to immigration records showing whether the worker left Singapore and arrived at their stated destination.

Failing to return to your home country after a work permit cancellation could lead to complications for the employer or yourself, including potential bans or restrictions for future work pass applications.

As far as I know (but please confirm that with MoM and/or ICA) it is ufficient to leave Singapopre (to another country you have a visa or entry rights for). It does not need to be your home country.

But for WP holders, the employer is responsible for the epatriation. So please liase with them also!
