The length of ban applied by ICA (and also what, if anything, you can do to lift it prematurely) differs with the reason that caused it.

Instead of waiting for other's replies here, you should contact ICA and ask them directly!

Regret to say that ICA won't tell anything but just saying that appeal can be made via local sponsor for them to review. I have tried once even with IPA letter still unsuccessful.

Thisanswer is as clear as it gets with ICA: The ban can only be lifted by applying via a local sponsor!

(An IPA for a work pass is from MoM and won't change ICA's opinion.)

Hi. If someone who is a former pass holder is banned from entering sg due to committing crime here, then ica lifted the ban, so this person with criminal record is given leniency?

surya2k

It depends on nature of crime and Singapore is a strict country so giving leniency is not that easy but if the crime is minor then after 6yrs it can allow to enter. You may check with ICA and get their approval via email so the person who travels can carry.

If committed crime is not a minor offence then beware ICA officers will interrogate on arrival and may arrest.
