Building in Moalboal Cebu

Hello there.

My name is Mo and I will be building two houses and a swimming pool on 400 sq.m of land.

I have a forman and his team doing all the work. I will be buying all the materials and will be on site most, if not every day, for a few hours to help with any queries.

To be honest, I know nothing about building and I wondered if I need someone to check the work on a weekly basis to make sure everything's being done correctly.

Can anyone give me so tips, advise or contacts that could help me?

Hi Mo and welcome to the forum, enjoy and contribute.

To your post. Do you trust your foreman and crew? Have you seen their work and finished products? Recommendations from previous clients?

I'm fortunate as I had 40 odd years in the building industry in Oz from hands on to design and planning, engineering skills etc. Boots on the ground everyday for 18 months as we lived here in our existing house through the extensions and renovations and for me was an eye opener but I'll leave it at that for now.

If you have engineered plans and approvals then your foreman should be able to follow those but I found there was a a lot of corner cutting and trying it on, NO is an easy word to say as is Correctly. I and my better half wish you luck as it can be a trialing time.

Good luck.

Cheers, Steve.
