Divorce of Ca green card holder from Philippines woman

Does anyone knows if A California divorce from Philippines woman is excepted as legal divorce by the Manila PSA ? The marriage was a civil marriage in Manila...

As far as I know a divorce is legal from another country. It just has to be on record with the proper Philippine authorities. 


I am no legal expert but I remember doing research years ago about Filipina's getting divorced in another country though the married in the Philippines  and it being legal for remarriage.
