Great to see how friendly are local people, that is very nice.
I am in Almaty for a couple of years and got some friends here with whom we spend pretty good time visiting places, going out, etc. I recently met a person, a DJ from Saint Petersburg who gave me an idea of getting Almaty expats together for them to meet, find friends and have a good time. He has a nice place up in the mountains with the most beautiful view on Almaty I ever seen. So what do you think of inviting your foreign and/or Kazakh friends to a party, which will be organized by that new friend of mine? BBQ, shashlyk (correct?), some alcohol, nice music and open people? I am thinking of a small party, like 20-30 people. That would be pretty nice! Also, share pictures of his place with your friends, I am sure they’ll love it. So please inform. Thanks.

You should go to Shakespeare Pub on the weekend.A lot of expats there.Hope that helps.Cheers

Have you been to Shakespeare Pub?  It is the only place I know where Brits gather.  They have pretty good food too.

Hi Nancy, that's great well, I finish work tomoro at 7pm, and days off Sunday and Monday, hence whichever day/evening suits you I'm happy to meet anytime. I'll private message you my phone number.

It is not as hard as you think - but we do tend to frequent the same places... Have you tried the Shakespeare yet? There is also the Guinness Bar or KGB (Kangaroo Grill and Bar)... There is also internations.org which is worth joining too...
