Gourmet Festival to Kick Off in Panyu

This year's Guangzhou International Gourmet Festival will be held from Dec. 23 to 30 in Guangzhou's Panyu District.

Being held in Panyu Dadao's China Gourmet Plaza, the fest is a big carnival to prove the famous saying "Eating in Guangzhou." It covers over 30,000 sq. m of space and gathers over 200 restaurants from home and aboard. Everyone can be there tasting the eight major Chinese cuisines, local featured Cantonese cuisine and delicacies from places like Russia, Spain, Brazil, Japan and Taiwan.

This is also a culture carnival. Bandwagon parades and different art performances will be staged from time to time. There will be also several activities in different themes to showcase the food culture in different places in the world for the visitors to play and experience. Guangzhou's time-honored restaurants and intangible cultural heritage about food will be also presented for the visitors.

The organizer recommends the visitors to reach the site by public transportation. There will be also shuttle buses between the site and the nearest metro stations.

The "One thousand and one nights" does not only appear in fairy tales. By walking into the Sheraton Qingyuan Lion Lake Resort and you will enter the fantastic Arabian world for a countdown carnival.

From December 28 to January 1, the carnival will feature the "1001 Nights" fairy tale – you can not miss the Angry Bird games, dance competitions and ping-pong challenge, Sheraton snacks, Tarot, horoscopes and Chinese Yi augury for 2013 as well as the most exciting lucky draw.





On the night of December 31, a gala show will welcome the year of 2013 - Gangnan Style dance, DJ show, group song and dance, cloning and magic performance - all kinds of visual and gastronomic delights will give you a night you certainly won't forget. The lighting show and firework display will light up everybody with joy at the lake of the resort. Carnival tickets are priced at RMB 80 (including RMB 40 couple). The price of dinner ticket is RMB 980 + 15%, carnival entrance inclusive.

The hotel is promoting an accommodation package with the carnival tickets. The New Year Package (from RMB 1098+15%) includes a deluxe room, two-person breakfast buffet and dinner, carnival tickets and gala show on December 31.
